So watching Aisha was somewhere between watching Gossip Girl and Sex and the city reruns. Finally bollywood gets a chick flick and it is already number 1 on my favorite hindi movie list.Ok its the only movie on the list.I am not much of a bollywood fan.But I am definitely a fashion freak. And that's whom this movie caters to. Sonam's character Aisha is draped in a dreamy collection of couture dresses and vintage jewellery from Christian Lacroix, Chanel, Ayesha Depala, Manish Arora, DLF Emporio, and Portico.

Nude tulle flowery dresses with a bow and small pearls,Black nail paint,Lady Dior bag and Pretty head gears are just some of the traces of the glamourous, glittery affair that Aisha was.Even the scene in which Aisha is sitting crying once wearing a huge poofy flowy red dress or after the engagement party scene makes her look like a pretty delicious cupcake with icing.Sadness was never this Glam.
Intelligently styled, every character has their own distinct look. Sonam wears a lot of pastels, while the bright colours are left to her best friend Pinky Bose. This is the first time you will see a Hindi movie heroine wear a bowtie with a skirt at the breakfast table. Aisha is the only movie to have used so many international brands and even Manish Arora’s quirky designs and Rajesh Pratap Singh’s understated ones are allowed to shine on the silver screen. Ira Dubey as the spunky best friend carries off the bright Manish Arora outfits with complete ease. Military style jackets, structured shoulders and bright colours sit perfectly on her petite frame and she breaks the preppy monotony of Sonam and Amrita Puri’s style. Puri gets to wear some pretty Anamika Khanna salwar suits as well. Lisa Haydon as a banker from New York is most understated, wearing simple dresses and suits usually in black or white. In a scene with everyone is in their swimwear, Haydon wears a black bikini. Even Dubey looks great in hers, and Sonam looks pretty in a one piece with distressed denims worn as a cover-up. Abhay Deol looks dapper in Dior Homme.
And so if havent seen this movie yet Do go and watch it.If you are a fan of Carrie Bradshaw or Blair waldorf I am sure this is the closest a bollywood flick is ever gonna get.So go drench yourself in glitter and high fashion.
xoxo
